Update #02 – Hard Plastic – The innovative modular walls of Forgotten Halls.

Hi to all.

So you’ve seen a (very small, we assure you) sneak peek of Forgotten Halls, with our last video.
The big questions will be “how does FH works ?” and “when will it be available ?”

Let’s start the with the later.
Forgotten Halls will be presented on the Kickstarter platform at the end of 2016, once all 3D bases pledges will have been sent to all our backers.
You understood right, there are just some few months to wait!

Let’s speak now about how Forgotten Hall works. There is a TON of hidden gems in our product, and most are not yet seen.
But we can start with the walls, on this video:

As you see, all of our pillars have round inserts where to connect our dynamic walls (all concepts created by MHW), where other inserts (here you see our columns but torches and much more will be seen) can be added.
From there on, it’s just a question of “flooring up” if you want to make higher walls … be it because you want them higher, or because you want to make a building with multiple floors.
These higher floors will be reachable with an innovative stair system.

Now, again, we’re barely scrapping the surface of what can be done with our walls … Just to give you an example, here is what can be done, with yet another of our ideas, the Wall Inserts, yet another innovative idea of MHW.

The Wall Inserts system

Wall Inserts are walls pieces that insert themselves into existing walls, allowing you to create completely different (and modular) walls with a simple gesture, without having to change and detach the previous existing walls which build up your whole structure.

This gives you two huge benefits:
– It is very good for your wallet: if you have 30 walls with arches, and you want also plains walls, thicker, you don’t need to buy some other 30 more walls. Just buy some wall inserts (only on FH), and you’re good to go!
– plug and play, very speedily: if you have built a big dungeon or castle interior, but want to change some of the walls, you can do it very quickly without have to tear down / detach most of your walls and pillars. Just add a wall insert and you’re done!

Our video shows only the 2 different wall inserts, with amazing results. Imagine what you could do with way more : the possibilities are endless … and they will be.

Update #10 – 3D Bases – Modular Terrain

Salve a tutti!
Abbiamo deciso di accelerare sul progetto 3D Bases.
Eccovi a voi il 5° basotto completato e dipinto.
Potete notare come abbiamo lasciato ampio margine per il gioco, grazie ai vari dislivelli, mura, e passaggi presenti ovunque!
Qualche pezzo, ancora integro, si può ammirare tra le rovine.

Hi everybody!
We are increasing our commitment to the completion of the 3D Bases project, and this will continue for the next weeks up to its completion.
Here is the 5th base, completed and painted.
You can see how we left a lot of room for gaming, thanks to the differences in heights, walls, and passages mixing all over this base.
In this ruined land, some few things are still unscathed, open for discovery.

Stiamo già lavorando sul 6°, e ultimo basotto che completerà il quadro dell’abbazia!
Ecco una visione d’insieme dei 5 basotti ideati finora.

We are already working on the 6th base, which will complete the abbey!
Here is the overall view of the 5 bases created up to now.

Dopo il completamento dell’abbazia (prossimo articolo) svilupperemo altri basotti relativi ai paesaggi circostanti : fiumi, colline, e altro ancora!
Vi lasciamo con le immagini del basotto esplorato da alcuni soldati, per darvi un idea delle dimensioni e delle possibilità.

Once the abbey will be completed (in the next article) we will develop other bases related to the surrounding land: rivers, hills, and much more!
To let you understand better the dimensions and gaming possibilities, we are giving you more pictures, this time with some soldiers exploring the ruin.

Update #3 3D Bases – Modular Terrain: skirmish & wargame

Salve a tutti.
Nuovo update su come dipingere le nuove basi tridimensionali Manorhouse Workshop. Optiamo per un metodo di pittura molto veloce 4 colori per ottenere un risultato molto valido. Partiamo dando una base marrone scuro a pennello a secco. passiamo a un marrone chiaro. Continuiamo con un beige e terminiamo il tutto con un grigio chiaro sempre a pennello a secco.

New update on how to paint the new three-dimensional bases by Manorhouse Workshop. We opt for a method of painting very fast, only 4 colors to get a very good result. We start by giving a basic dark brown in dry brush. we move on to a light brown. We continue with a beige and finish it all with a light gray always dry brush.

Il risultato ottenuto è piacevole.

The result is very nice.

Ma, manca ancora un particolare per rendere il tutto più realistico. L’aggiunta dell’erba per dare vita al tutto. Ma questo lo vedremo nel prossimo update.

But, it still lacks a particular to make it more realistic. The addition of the grass to give life to everything. All this we will see in the next update.

Ne avete avuto un piccolo esempio con una variante utilizzata per creare i nostri fogli effetto pietra.

Is launching a fantastic new project dedicated to creating Modular terrain for Wargames and skirmish.
In this new project, the material used is innovative, lightweight and indestructible. So, perfect use for which it is targeted.
Have you had a small example with a variant used to create our stone effect sheets.

In questo nuovo progetto siamo andati oltre. Infatti MHW: ha ideato, progettato e realizzato delle vere e proprie basi 30×30 cm. tridimensionali. Che riproducono costruzioni in rovine già pronte per essere dipinte e messe sul tavolo da gioco. (non c’è bisogno di nessun montaggio) Presentiamo il primo Master.

In this new project we went further. In fact MHW: has devised, designed and built of the basis 30×30 cm. three-dimensional. Reproducing buildings in ruins ready to be put on the table from play. (no need of any assembly) We present the first Master.

Ora presentiamo il primo risultato ottenuto con il nuovo materiale.

Now we present the first result obtained with the new material.

Fantastico non è vero? Ma, osserviamo meglio il prodotto.

Come potete notare: la base è vuota all’interno, quindi molto leggera.
Completamente flessibile. Si può piegare senza paura di rovinare o rompere il pezzo
Resistente al peso. Abbiamo usato un peso di 900 grammi in legno. La terrazza non viene schiacciata  o deformata dal peso.
Personalmente reputo questo materiale strepitoso sia nel copiare perfettamente il master sia nella sua robustezza restando comunque molto flessibile.
Presto ulteriori notizie riguardo il progetto.

As you can see: the base is hollow inside, therefore very light.
Completely flexible. You can bend without fear of to break the piece
Resistant to weight. We used a weight of 900 grams in wood. The terrace is not squashed or deformed from weight.
Personally I find this amazing material both in copying perfectly the master, both in its robustness while remaining very flexible.

We put together some of our pre-painted terrains. We will get fantastic battlefields to move inside our miniatures and our imagination.

Dal cimitero passiamo al piccolo villaggio rudere.

From the cemetery we pass the small village in ruin.

Unendo i due temi, otteniamo un campo di battaglia molto complesso adatto a qualsiasi skirmish.

Combining the two themes, we obtain a battlefield very complex suitable for any skirmish.

Pochi o tanti… con i nostri terreni pre-dipinti il campo di battaglia prende vita.

Few or many… with our pre-painted terrains the battlefield comes to life.

Update 45 – Towers

Salve a tutti.
Dopo una lunga assenza di articoli sul blog. (spedire pacchi in mezzo mondo non crea novità interessanti da pubblicare)
Oggi però abbiamo 2 novità da presentarvi:
la torre d’angolo e la torre di guardia appena stampate e pronte per la produzione.
Stiamo per arrivare al termine del lungo e impegnativo progetto finanziato su Indiegogo.
Mancano all’appello il barbacane e il muro fortificato.
