Kickstarter Zealot Miniatures & Manorhouse Workshop Terrain # 2

Hi to everyone!

We are now continuing to present the new miniatures of Zealot’s Miniatures Kickstarter on our terrain kits.
After showing them on our 3D Bases, we are now presenting them on our Forgotten Halls walls.
We are also using this occasion to show you our definitive version of our dynamic floors.
But we will speak about them in our next article.

Those Zealot Miniatures, like we said in our first article, remember us of the old-school design of the 80’s, but with quite a modern touch.
The following 10 miniatures (pictures taken from the Kickstarter page) indeed remind us a bit about the HeroQuest heroes.

So a dungeon is a perfect set-up to make them shine in their whole splendor.

Of course, an image is worth more than a thousand words, so give you more images to look at and share to you the link where you will be able to follow the last days of the Zealot Miniatures Kickstarter.

Update 18 – Forgotten Halls – New accessories shown at Essen!

Hi to everyone.

Back from Essen, where David presented in a first sneak peak some of the accessories which will be added as Stretch Goals in our next Forgotten Hall KS campaign.
Not everyone could be there however, so we’ve decided to show you what it was about. 🙂

What you will see will allow you to increase tenfold the possibilities and potentialities of your dungeons, buildings, castles, and towers created with our product!!!

We are talking about Stone Stairs.
Now you are surely thinking “but didn’t MHW already showed those in the box Eerie Silence ?”
In a way we did, but the one we’re unveiling now is much more narrow, allowing you to use them even in corridors without blocking the way!
Of course, those new stairs will still allow 25mm wide base miniatures to be put on the steps, without any issue!

This is a simple idea, but with enormous potential.
With a bigger stair, you can go up and down, but if put inside a corridor, you have no choice but to use the stairs.
Here with the more narrow stairs, you can decide if to use the stairs, or proceed forward.
Imagine your soldiers invading a castle and fighting on a corridor, some of them trying to fend off the enemy soldiers coming down from above (from the stairs) while the rest just continue on the side, towards the door at the end of the corridor, where the throne room and the opposing ruler with his king guards awaits.

There are countless uses for this new piece, and we’re sure you’ll find a lot on your own!
More narrow and sleek pieces make up also for an even more beautiful scene.

Of course, to complete the piece, you will need also some new floors and new balustrades.

You can go further …
Just combine big and small stairs, for amazing results!
Here the big stairs are used to create huge pathways while the smaller ones are used to move inside the corridors!

Update 15 – F.H. – Hard Plastic – Beyond the Door & Eerie Silence

Hi to everyone!

It’s been a while since last update. We have been working a lot on the 3D Bases project, but also have news about Forgotten Halls, so here we are.

Let’s start with some announcement that will make you rejoice.
We are giving you a glimpse of the 2 boxes that will be revealed on our next KS.

Starter Pack – Beyond the Door
Expansion Pack – Eerie Silence

Graphic design by: Fabio “Jacknife” Paulotto

Yes, you will have both available, right from the start. Isn’t it great ?

In our Base Set “Beyond the Door” you will be able to create corridors and rooms with our fully modular and Dynamic Walls, which can be used to build both indoor settings and outdoor buildings (while keeping full playability on the inside).

And of course, thanks to our Dynamic Floors, you will be able to build from the start of the Kickstarter huge dungeons with sewers and canals.

With the Expansion Set “Eerie Silence” you will move further, on the upper floors.
You will find inside this box new Dynamic Walls, and new Double Face floors, Stairs, and balustrades to create parapets or bridges, all the while keeping the same indoor/outdoor potentialities and playability.

With the two boxes togethers, you will be able to let your imagination run wild: underground places, corridors, rooms, upper and lower floors, platforms and bridges, towers, fortified walls, ancient mansions and castles.
Amazing, and this is just the beginning.

Just imagine all you will be able to obtain with the passing days on the Kickstarter.
But that will be just your imagination, because we can’t reveal you everything, we would spoil the surprise. And there are great, amazing surprises waiting.

This is all for today.
You might be asking yourself “Great, 2 boxes, but how much do they cost, what do they contain, when is the KS starting, what will be the Goal ?”
All those informations will be revealed later on on the upcoming weeks.
Stay tuned on our blog for more info!

Until next, Lorenzo and David.

Update 13 – F.H. – Hard Plastic – Back to the… Dynamic Floors & Sewers

Hi everyone!

After several articles about the walls of Forgotten Halls, which allows to build and create an infinity of amazing buildings, we are back to one of the most interesting feature of our project: our Dynamic Floors.

Our Dynamic Floors can be modified and customized in many different ways, by adding and taking out some Floor Inserts.

In Forgotten Halls, our Dynamic Floors have a cross-section, with 3 different Modular inserts, which can be added/taken out, and moved to create different results.

In Forgotten Halls, our Dynamic Floors have a cross-section, with 3 different Modular inserts, which can be added/taken out, and moved to create different results.

This is just one of the multiple solution reachable with Forgotten Halls.

But let’s go back to the Dungeon.
This dungeon has a lot of modularity. Since our walls are not pinned to the floors, you can put them wherever you want, creating even very narrow corridors, or rooms of various sizes.
The length of the corridors and the size of the rooms is up to you!
All of the modularity doesn’t take away anything of the aesthetics, allowing you to immerge yourself and your miniatures in a beautiful gaming experience.

Update 11 – Forgotten Halls – Hard Plastic – Fortified Terrace

Hi to everyone!
Let’s continue with more accessories to widen even more the potentialities of our Forgotten Halls project.

To see all the videos dedicated to our Forgotten Halls project, and being kept updated about them, go and subscribe to our YouTube channel

Let’s start from the terrace that we did present during last article.
We did add 2 towers to this structure, connected between them with a small overhead bridge.
You can see how the stairs give a great dynamism to the whole, while the towers give a robust show of strength to the whole structure.

On this other building, we modified everything making it a real sturdy fortress.
The 2 towers are still there but we took out the stairs bringing up to the terrace, and made the walls of the main building much more sturdier thanks to our “Dynamic External Walls”.
And this is just a single floor building. Imagine what you could create with a taller structure, with more floors … a unique and huge fortress.

Let’s speak about our “Dynamic External Walls”.
This simple yet elegant MHW idea allows to create endless potentialities for your building creations, without needing to invest a lot of money to buy hundreds of different walls, which then take also a lot of place when you need to stock them around.
With our solution, with just the Walls of our Base Set, you can add any kind of our Dynamic External Walls to create a various number of different walls of your liking.

We’re just scratching the surface here of the possibilities, since you can combine the main Dynamic Walls (inside the walls) with the External ones to create wonderful results, giving depth and details, in different ways, to your structure.

Of course, our external dynamic walls are available on both format (60x56x4mm. and 100x56x4mm.).

This is just the beginning.

Update #5 – Hard Plastic – Dynamic Walls, an original MHW concept

Hi to all.

When MHW first created the concept of dynamic walls some years ago, it was the result of years of brainstorming. Something simple, yet elegant.
Dynamic Walls are called like that because they can be inserted and swapped into our real walls to create an infinity of combinations.
This means you don’t need to buy a lot of different walls. You need usually to buy only 1, and if you want to have different walls, just swap the insert (“Dynamic Wall”) inside, and you’re good.
Easy, and cheap.

Here is a short video about 6 different dynamic walls that we have created, and which will be available for our Kickstarter.

Did you notice also our dynamic wall with the door ?
Yes, the door is open there, but not fixed. All our doors, in our dynamic walls, will be able to be opened and closed easily, allowing you to open passages without having to take out the dynamic wall in itself!
It doesn’t stop to wooden doors. A good number of our dynamic walls can have such a feature, it’s quite simple, really.

What are our 6 dynamic walls ?

Plain wall: the overall result is a very gothic-like plain wall.
Door: you can open and close this door without having to swap the dynamic wall. It is very important when you have another floor/wall on top of it, else you would need to unbuild a whole upper floor section just to take out the dynamic wall so as to “open” the door.
Grate: very straightforward. Can also be created with a “door grate” version, similar to our “Door” dynamic wall, for more versatility.
Window & Gothic Balcony: those versions aren’t seen in other videos yet, but they are a sneak peek of what to come. They will allow you to have breathtaking upper floors, in full gothic architecture, starting from balconies, and moving to whole structures and churches/cathedrals.
Arch: it is not a typo, there is a dynamic wall which shows an arch … inside another arch …
But why ?
First of all, it’s beautiful, and brings out the full power of the gothic architecture. We love beautiful things.
Secondly, while you can keep a walled arch without a dynamic wall inside (and it would just show an arch), if you don’t add a cover or a dynamic wall inside, then it won’t look perfect overall, because you will see the slit/slot on the top of the wall, empty, like a hole, because there is no dynamic wall inside.
The same slits could be seen also from the inside, if you look closely at the insides of the arches.
We at MHW aim for perfection.

Does it stop there ?
No it doesn’t.
There are many more to come, and all of our dynamic walls have been thought so as to be used in a plethora of different situations, making them the most modular (and useful) walls you’ll ever see.

Update #3 – Hard Plastic – The innovative modular floors of Forgotten Halls

Hi to all.

After last udpate on the Walls (which still show only part of all their full potential), it’s time for another article, this time about our floors.

Let’s start with a small video, which speaks about another innovative idea of MHW : the Floor Inserts.

As you see, our floors have a main structure, in which you can add our “Floor Inserts” to create a lot of different floors and patterns.
Each floor is 10x10cm, and has some Floors Inserts already included.
Here, it is the “Stone Floor inserts”.
If you take those out, you have already another floor ready: the Sewers (because we painted them that way, but they can be empty canals, painted with lava, or anything you wish).
This is already a concept of “2 Floors in 1” : with every Floor you’ll buy, you get 2.
But as you see, the inserts can be put back in a different pattern, to create anything you wish, so it’s way more than that.

Do you need 4 straight sewer floors, 2 curve, 1 T-section, and 1 cross-section ?
You don’t need to buy 8 NEW sewer floors. You have already those floors with FH, you just need to take out the inserts and compose them in the way you wish!

As you see in our video, it gets even better with a simple other “Floor Insert”: the Grates.
Just swap the stone inserts with the grate inserts, and you can change the floors very easily and in a lot of ways!

Does it stop here ?
Of course not. This is just part of what you will be able to do, and the innovative ideas, we have developed.
Check this next video for another example, just with the grate inserts, and with multiple floors:

The ease of taking out the inserts and locking them back in place is amazing, and the possibilities endless. Imagine what you would be able to do with some more inserts than just those 2!

Lastly, all our floors and inserts are built in such a way as to have “2,5cm” tiles/patterns, to help with boardgame, RPG and skirmish movements.

At Manorhouse Workshop, our motto is Quality, Affordability, and Modularity.
Our Walls and Floors are just another example of us working in this direction.

Update #02 – Hard Plastic – The innovative modular walls of Forgotten Halls.

Hi to all.

So you’ve seen a (very small, we assure you) sneak peek of Forgotten Halls, with our last video.
The big questions will be “how does FH works ?” and “when will it be available ?”

Let’s start the with the later.
Forgotten Halls will be presented on the Kickstarter platform at the end of 2016, once all 3D bases pledges will have been sent to all our backers.
You understood right, there are just some few months to wait!

Let’s speak now about how Forgotten Hall works. There is a TON of hidden gems in our product, and most are not yet seen.
But we can start with the walls, on this video:

As you see, all of our pillars have round inserts where to connect our dynamic walls (all concepts created by MHW), where other inserts (here you see our columns but torches and much more will be seen) can be added.
From there on, it’s just a question of “flooring up” if you want to make higher walls … be it because you want them higher, or because you want to make a building with multiple floors.
These higher floors will be reachable with an innovative stair system.

Now, again, we’re barely scrapping the surface of what can be done with our walls … Just to give you an example, here is what can be done, with yet another of our ideas, the Wall Inserts, yet another innovative idea of MHW.

The Wall Inserts system

Wall Inserts are walls pieces that insert themselves into existing walls, allowing you to create completely different (and modular) walls with a simple gesture, without having to change and detach the previous existing walls which build up your whole structure.

This gives you two huge benefits:
– It is very good for your wallet: if you have 30 walls with arches, and you want also plains walls, thicker, you don’t need to buy some other 30 more walls. Just buy some wall inserts (only on FH), and you’re good to go!
– plug and play, very speedily: if you have built a big dungeon or castle interior, but want to change some of the walls, you can do it very quickly without have to tear down / detach most of your walls and pillars. Just add a wall insert and you’re done!

Our video shows only the 2 different wall inserts, with amazing results. Imagine what you could do with way more : the possibilities are endless … and they will be.

Update #1 – Hard Plastic – From 3D Bases to Forgotten Halls!

Hi to all.

Manorhouse Workshop, the creator of 3D Bases, MUP, and of his endless modular buildings and creations, is proud to present our new project: Forgotten Halls! This project started exactly a year ago, in October 2015. The first concept drawings were shown to the public on our blog here, in January 2016:

Links to Forgotten Halls original concept:

https://manorhouseworkshop.com/2016/01/20/5-forgotten-halls-the-upper-floor-inserts-in-details/

Now, some months later, with the 3D Bases production nearly over and the first deliveries already on their way, we are presenting something more than drawings (or 3D computer grafic): you will see the REAL pieces of Forgotten Halls.
Creating the real pieces and checking them first hand is a basic rule from any modeler, to check that everything works and correct/improve the concept, which allows to give a customer a final product which works not only in theory, but in practice (an approach used in all MHW’s projects, from his buildings to 3D Bases, and also the MUP).

What you will see in the following video is just the tip of the iceberg of our project.

Miniatures Reaper Miniatures. Kindly provide by Francesco Endar” Bellina

As you see, on our 3D Base Abbey base, the secret passage under the Altar did HINT at something more. This “something more” is Forgotten Halls.

Forgotten Halls is THE most advanced modular construction system existing, and will be made of hard plastic. We always had in mind a world where 3D Bases could merge and complete a modular interior & exterior building system, with the quality and attention to details for which MHW is known around the world.

The 3D Bases project is in its infancy, and will grow tenfold. Forgotten Halls will be following the same path, like brother and sister. A long series of articles (complete with pictures and videos) will show you its true potential and its unique and original technical solutions.

This is just the beginning.
