Update 19 – Forgotten Halls – New Modular Floor design

Hi to everyone!

It’s time to present our new and final design for our Forgotten Halls Modular Floors.
The version you are familiar with is the following.

You probably thought “it’s cool, but it doesn’t look finished”.
Indeed, you were right.
We can now unveil the last design of our floors.
It changes fully aspect and becomes even more dynamic.

Now the design is similar to sewer channels, whereas before it was completely empty.
The dynamical inserts become much more important, and by swapping their positions on the floor, a thousand different combinations open up!

The images show in detail most of the possibilities.
But let’s come back to our dynamic inserts for our floors:
As of now you can see and taste the ones with a cobblestone effect … but imagine what could be on the other side …
Indeed, with our “Forgotten Halls” system, you will be able to get from the beginning 3 new effects of floor design!
1 – sewers.
2 – stone floors
3 – … we can’t reveal this one yet!
But we assure you that you will be amazed by it!

This is all for now.
Until next,

Lorenzo & David.

Kickstarter Zealot Miniatures & Manorhouse Workshop Terrain # 2

Hi to everyone!

We are now continuing to present the new miniatures of Zealot’s Miniatures Kickstarter on our terrain kits.
After showing them on our 3D Bases, we are now presenting them on our Forgotten Halls walls.
We are also using this occasion to show you our definitive version of our dynamic floors.
But we will speak about them in our next article.

Those Zealot Miniatures, like we said in our first article, remember us of the old-school design of the 80’s, but with quite a modern touch.
The following 10 miniatures (pictures taken from the Kickstarter page) indeed remind us a bit about the HeroQuest heroes.

So a dungeon is a perfect set-up to make them shine in their whole splendor.

Of course, an image is worth more than a thousand words, so give you more images to look at and share to you the link where you will be able to follow the last days of the Zealot Miniatures Kickstarter.

Cheers from Lorenzo & David.

Kickstarter Zealot Miniatures & Manorhouse Workshop Terrain!

Hi to everyone,

As promised, we are now showing you an article dedicated to the collaboration with another company we hold dear.
We are talking about the excellent pieces of Zealot Miniatures.
We did receive last week a package from the UK and inside were 8 gorgeous miniatures, cast in resin.
David and I were impressed by the quality of the product, even though this is nothing new, coming from Zealot.
In the past, we already did a collaboration with them showing their spectacular dungeons goodies of their first Kickstarter (Twisted Catacombs), teaming them up with our rooms of our “Forgotten Halls” project.

Let’s get more into specifics: those 8 miniatures Zealot send us are related to a new Kickstarter, already under way, about fantasy miniatures for dungeons.
Unlike their precedent 2 Kickstarters, the stamps are not made by computer digitally but by hand, by the sculptor “Boris Woloszyn”.
Well … let’s just say that looking at those miniatures brought me back to the 80’s, but with a way more clean and modern look, which definitively catches the eye.
Even the production options the Kickstarter gives you is a wink to the past: you can choose the miniatures to be cast in White Metal (classic but old-style), in standard Resin, or Premium Resin (last-generation resin very resistant and still quite flexible).

As soon as we received the miniatures we couldn’t resist and thus placed them on one of our “3D Bases”.
The overall result is just great, they do fit perfectly!
We are sure Zealot’s new Kickstarter will be yet another success.

To know more about it go directly on the Kickstarter page of Zealot Miniatures.

Cheers from Lorenzo & David

Here we go again!

Hi to everyone.
It’s been nearly a year I didn’t publish anything or give any news.
I must admit 2017 and a good part of 2018 was quite harsh, and I can say, even dramatic, for me.
I don’t want however to bore you with tedious explanations.
Now, we’re at the start of October and I can say that these last 2 years are behind me, with a somewhat positive outcome.
I am not speaking of the overall’s company outcome, but the health one.
I never lost my positive thinking, which allowed me in the past to overcome many difficulties.
So to happy thinking and to excellent surgeons it is!
In this year of silence even the work helped me a lot.
It allowed me to go forward and project a lot of cool stuff we will publish in the future.
Keep your mind busy is the best of medicines, I can assure you.
The next medicine is keep in contact with people.
And indeed the first article we will write again is dedicated to a long-time collaboration which has been going on for years now.
Big thanks to all of you who follow my blog, and to all who were close to me in this last difficult period.

Until next, Lorenzo.

Update 18 – Forgotten Halls – New accessories shown at Essen!

Hi to everyone.

Back from Essen, where David presented in a first sneak peak some of the accessories which will be added as Stretch Goals in our next Forgotten Hall KS campaign.
Not everyone could be there however, so we’ve decided to show you what it was about. 🙂

What you will see will allow you to increase tenfold the possibilities and potentialities of your dungeons, buildings, castles, and towers created with our product!!!

We are talking about Stone Stairs.
Now you are surely thinking “but didn’t MHW already showed those in the box Eerie Silence ?”
In a way we did, but the one we’re unveiling now is much more narrow, allowing you to use them even in corridors without blocking the way!
Of course, those new stairs will still allow 25mm wide base miniatures to be put on the steps, without any issue!

This is a simple idea, but with enormous potential.
With a bigger stair, you can go up and down, but if put inside a corridor, you have no choice but to use the stairs.
Here with the more narrow stairs, you can decide if to use the stairs, or proceed forward.
Imagine your soldiers invading a castle and fighting on a corridor, some of them trying to fend off the enemy soldiers coming down from above (from the stairs) while the rest just continue on the side, towards the door at the end of the corridor, where the throne room and the opposing ruler with his king guards awaits.

There are countless uses for this new piece, and we’re sure you’ll find a lot on your own!
More narrow and sleek pieces make up also for an even more beautiful scene.

Of course, to complete the piece, you will need also some new floors and new balustrades.

You can go further …
Just combine big and small stairs, for amazing results!
Here the big stairs are used to create huge pathways while the smaller ones are used to move inside the corridors!

We move to new stand “H122” in Essen!!!

Hello everyone.

David from Essen informs us, that from Stand J118 moved
at the new stand H122 always in Hall 6.

Definitely a better stand. 🙂

For the lucky ones who are in Essen, they will be able to see and talk to David about the Forgotten Halls project.

For all the others, a couple of images quickly sent by David.
Many other pictures still in the coming days

All the best. Lorenzo

Forgotten Halls and NoLands Comics at Essen!

We kept this a bit under wrap for weeks, but Manorhouse Workshop will be at the Essen Fair (26 October to 29 October)!

We will be presenting our Forgotten Halls project, so that you can see first hand our prototype and also some new exciting pieces that will be unveiled only at Essen!

To illustrate the contents perfectly, nothing’s better than a quick
video, which shows the huge amount of pieces contained in both boxes.

That’s right, all in all, the number of pieces of Beyond the Door &
Eerie Silence number 299!
This is without counting quite a good number of pins to connect safely
and perfectly all our pieces.

For this fair, we will be teaming up with another great company, the NoLands Comics
The NoLands Comics / Manorhouse Workshop booth will be 6J118 in Hall 6.

NoLands Comics is a company present at all major fairs, with their own lines of amazing Fantasy Comics and Roleplaying material.

For Essen, they’re also presenting their first brand new board game, called Total Party Kill!
The creator is none other than my own collaborator (David Destefanis), and he will be there to represent both companies.

Total Party Kill is a fast paced and merciless game, where 2 to 4 players build and level up their parties of Heroes, recruit Mercenaries, use Spells and Artifacts to fight and gain the upper hand on the other players, to explore and conquer dangerous Territories infested with Monsters.

Total Party Kill comes with 4 different faction decks, based on the NoLands comic world, and has a total of 200 cards (+ tokens). All cards can be used in various ways, from generating resources to be played normally on table.

See you at Essen!

Update 17 – Forgotten Halls: Into the Boxes!!!

Hi to everyone!

Today we’ll talk about the contents of our 2 Forgotten Halls boxes
Beyond the Door & Eerie Silence which will be seen on our next
Kickstarter.
To illustrate the contents perfectly, nothing’s better than a quick
video, which shows the huge amount of pieces contained in both boxes.

Graphic design – video by: Fabio “Jacknife” Paulotto

That’s right, all in all, the number of pieces of Beyond the Door &
Eerie Silence number 299!
This is without counting quite a good number of pins to connect safely
and perfectly all our pieces, and numerous freebies that will be
unlocked in the Kickstarter!
The gaming terrain you just admired in the video is one of the
thousands combinations doable with our gaming pieces.
Manorhose Workshop wants to give you the possibility to create awesome
structures and buildings from the start of our Kickstarter, with just
these 2 boxes!
Just imagine what you could reach by adding more boxes!

Beyond the Door:

This box will allow you to create dungeons, rooms,
corridors …
Inside, 9 dynamic floors (100x100x10 mm. each) will allow you to
create a terrain area up to 30×30 cm.(around 1’x1′).
If however you put those dynamic floors one after another, you can
reach a length of 90cm of corridors.
This is however just the beginning: those same floors can be used to
create multiple different floors besides plain stone floors : canals,
sewers, and more.
This is done by taking out and moving around the floors inserts of our
dynamic floors, allowing you to build a near infinity of different
floors of your liking.
Walls get also a lot of love, thanks to our Dynamic Wall concept (an
original idea of MHW): our walls (100x56mm and 60x56mm) can have a
variety of wall inserts allowing you to get 6 different walls with
just 2 pieces!
Beyond the Door also follows a very dear policy of MHW: the
perfect-looking result, with the best definition and result possible.
This is shown too with our covers, that can be used to hide the
connecting holes of our walls and pillars, giving Forgotten Halls a
finished realistic look never seen around.
This doesn’t stop here : several accessories, like columns, braziers,
and wall supports will be inside to support and ornate your walls.

Eerie Silence:

This box will allow you to spread and increase your
dungeon / building upstairs and downstairs.
As you can see this box has quite a different content from Beyond the
Door and introduces quite a few new pieces.
First of all, the possibility to move upstairs or downstairs with
movable stairs, to be put easily wherever you wish.
The greatest peculiarity of our stairs is their « 2 in 1 »
characteristics: by just inserting the steps in a different way, you
can decide whether to have Gaming Stairs (where miniatures can be
fixed into them) or Diorama Stairs (for the best possible overall
looking result).
A new addition is also our new double face floors (2 mm of thickness),
one of 100×60 mm and another one of 60×60 mm. Those floors will allow
you to build upper floor corridors, wood or stone. Thanks to our
innovative system and our floor supports, you will be able to take out
those floors with ease, allowing you to reach into lower floors and
play with your miniatures there. No need to take out a whole upper
floor every time you want to play at a lower floor.
Those floors will also allow you to build a plethora of different
terraces, opening options for your creativity.
To give a finishing touch, you will get two balconies (100mm and 60mm
long), small pillars and columns (30mm high), which will allow you to
create bridges of various sizes very easily, even between buildings.

We’re speaking about two whole boxes of goodies, and this is just the
start of the Kickstarter!
What about the price ?
Well, we can assure you it’s lower than you are thinking. 🙂

More information on the matter will be written in a future update.
Sorry to keep you waiting. 😉

That’s all for now, don’t hesitate to drop us a line and ask us any
information about these 2 Forgotten Hall boxes!

Great summer holidays for all of you!

Until next, Lorenzo & David

Update 15 – F.H. – Hard Plastic – Beyond the Door & Eerie Silence

Hi to everyone!

It’s been a while since last update. We have been working a lot on the 3D Bases project, but also have news about Forgotten Halls, so here we are.

Let’s start with some announcement that will make you rejoice.
We are giving you a glimpse of the 2 boxes that will be revealed on our next KS.

Starter Pack – Beyond the Door
Expansion Pack – Eerie Silence

Graphic design by: Fabio “Jacknife” Paulotto

Yes, you will have both available, right from the start. Isn’t it great ?

In our Base Set “Beyond the Door” you will be able to create corridors and rooms with our fully modular and Dynamic Walls, which can be used to build both indoor settings and outdoor buildings (while keeping full playability on the inside).

And of course, thanks to our Dynamic Floors, you will be able to build from the start of the Kickstarter huge dungeons with sewers and canals.

With the Expansion Set “Eerie Silence” you will move further, on the upper floors.
You will find inside this box new Dynamic Walls, and new Double Face floors, Stairs, and balustrades to create parapets or bridges, all the while keeping the same indoor/outdoor potentialities and playability.

With the two boxes togethers, you will be able to let your imagination run wild: underground places, corridors, rooms, upper and lower floors, platforms and bridges, towers, fortified walls, ancient mansions and castles.
Amazing, and this is just the beginning.

Just imagine all you will be able to obtain with the passing days on the Kickstarter.
But that will be just your imagination, because we can’t reveal you everything, we would spoil the surprise. And there are great, amazing surprises waiting.

This is all for today.
You might be asking yourself “Great, 2 boxes, but how much do they cost, what do they contain, when is the KS starting, what will be the Goal ?”
All those informations will be revealed later on on the upcoming weeks.
Stay tuned on our blog for more info!

Until next, Lorenzo and David.
